Tolis Metzidakis is a Greek professional bass player and music producer based in Athens. He has worked with a wide range of bands and artists across diverse musical styles, both as a core band member and as a session musician, while also developing his own independent musical projects.
His musical influences include folk, soul, jazz, hip-hop, and contemporary pop, and his playing is characterized by rhythmic depth, groove precision, and expressive melodic lines. Metzidakis performs electric bass and contributes songwriting in the dream wave band Playground Theory, blending alternative and modern elements. He has also played bass in the modal jazz trio Stratum3, contributing to their improvisational and exploratory sound.
In addition to his band work, he has collaborated and performed live with artists such as Nikos Papadogiorgos, Nikos Mertzanos, and Dimitris Mpakoulis. He has also been active in party bands and mainstream pop-jazz projects, including the band Jazz It Up, showcasing his versatility across commercial and jazz-oriented live performances.
